Rachel Foley

My name is Rachel Foley and I live in Waitsfield  with my husband, Luke, our 9 year old daughter, Nora, and our 7 year old son, Tobin.  We have been in the Valley for the past 13 years and absolutely love the great community and tremendous beauty of this area.  Prior to taking the position at Fayston, I was a teacher and assistant director at Spring Hill School in Waitsfield.  I have also worked with children of all ages in numerous other capacities including summer camps, environmental education centers, and in the deserts of Utah, where I worked with at-risk teens in a wilderness therapy company.  I am originally from Pittsburgh, but feel like I have really found my place here in the Mad River Valley.

Judy Long

Judy Long  brings a delightfully warm, caring, and nurturing presence to our room.  She  lives in Fayston with her husband, Tony.   Her son, Cody,  attended the Fayston School.  Judy enjoys outdoor sports like hiking, skiing, and gardening.  Judy also works as a private tutor.  She is known and loved by all!  We are so lucky to have her!

The Environment

As in the Reggio Approach to early childhood education, we believe that the environment acts as a teacher.  When children are surrounded with rich materials and nature, children learn from experiences and playing within that world.
